$55.6 million, 311,726-square-foot hotel and resort adjacent to the Torrey Pines
Golf Course in La Jolla, California. The hotel has 175 guest rooms, each with
golf course, ocean or courtyard views; 13,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom
space; two restaurants and two bars; retail space; a luxury spa; and a 90,000-square-foot
parking garage. The facilities are centered around a large courtyard featuring
natural sandstone topography. The structure required the design for the use
of almost every building material in use today including:
